BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia State baseball's Nathan Paulsen was named the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, on Monday afternoon. He hit five home runs last week as the Yellow Jackets won 4-of-5 games played.

On Saturday, Paulsen went yard four times in a doubleheader against Notre Dame College. He hit one home run in the first game before going 3-for-3 with three home runs in the second game. In the second game of the twinbill versus Alderson Broaddus, he hit his fifth home run of the week in his last at bat. He was first up in the bottom of the ninth with the score tied and hit a walk-off dinger to dead center.

Paulsen scored seven runs and drove in another nine runs last week. He is now tied for third in the league with seven home runs on the season.
