INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- The West Virginia State University football team will play its spring game on Friday, April 28th at 5:30 p.m. at Lakin Ray-Field at Dickerson Stadium. The game will be an 11-on-11 scrimmage between members of the WVSU football squad.

"I'm really looking forward to a Friday night spring game under the lights at Lakin-Ray Field," said Head Coach John Pennington. "This is a great opportunity for any fans and alumni to see what our 2023 football team is all about.

"We've had a great semester building the foundations of our 2023 football team. We've seen a lot of development across the board and added some key additions this spring from the transfer portal.  It's been fun watching these guys compete and come together as a team."

There will also be a junior day for the recruiting class of 2024 leading up to the spring game. Check-in for junior day will begin at 2:30 p.m. to allow time for a full program overview and a campus tour.
