BUCKHANNON, W.VA. – After a dynamic series win against division foes Glenville State on Easter Weekend, West Virginia State Baseball returns to action this weekend, traveling north to face West Virginia Wesleyan in another critical Mountain East Conference South Division battle.

The Yellow Jackets enter the weekend at 17-16, with a 9-11 conference ledger. The squad has 12 regular season games remaining; four-game series with Wesleyan, of course, followed by sets with Davis & Elkins and cross-county rivals, Charleston to close out the year.

WVSU and Wesleyan begin action Saturday at Hank Ellis Field in Buckhannon, with first pitch slated for 3 p.m both days. Live stats and video will be available for all four contests.

THE SCOOP ON STATE
State is coming off a doubleheader performance against Glenville where they cranked out 23 hits on the day, led by senior Michael Stone and sophomore Ryan Kay, who each tallied five across the two games with four runs each. Kay also blasted the first long ball of his collegiate career, and freshman Dante Zamudio also blasted a home run during the series.

The Yellow Jackets rank fourth in the league with a .287 batting average, led individually by junior Trey Junkins with a .387 clip, followed closely by graduate student Andrew Stone's .337. Stone also tops the league in walks (34) and ranks third in on-base percentage (.535).

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Wesleyan enters the weekend with just two wins on the season at 2-29, but both have come in conference play with two wins over Alderson Broaddus.

The Bobcats are hitting .259 collectively, led by graduate student Martin Radosevic's .406 batting average. He also tops the team in home runs, with four, and a .672 slugging.

On the mound, WVWC has a 13.04 ERA.
