BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- West Virginia State University's
Tuva Wallin was named the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week for the sport of women's tennis on Monday. She became the second WVSU women's tennis player to receive the honor in two weeks.
The Yellow jackets defeated West Virginia Wesleyan, 6-0, in their only match played last week. Sophomore
Tuva Wallin teamed up with
Lea Rolland at No. 3 doubles to shutout their opponents, 6-0. Wallin then shutout Wesleyan's Julia Pinto (6-0, 6-0) at No. 2 singles to remain perfect on the day. Incredibly, she did not concede a single point to her opponents in the entire match.
