GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The West Virginia State University baseball team played its second doubleheader of the weekend series at Glenville State on Sunday afternoon and won both games. The Yellow Jackets edged GSC in the first game, 5-4, before they claimed the second game by a more comfortable margin, 6-2. WVSU came away with four victories in four games played against the Pioneers on Saturday and Sunday to complete the weekend sweep.

- Graduate student Matt Harrison went 2-for-4 with a homerun, two runs batted in, and one run scored. The dinger marked the third consecutive game in which he went yard.
- Senior Matthew Kline went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI while junior Brett Christian went yard for the first time this season.
- Seniors Jacob Bradley (W, 3-2) and Andrew Stone (S, 3) combined for 2.2 innings of work at the tail end of the game to shut down the Pioneers. Between the two hurlers, only one hit was allowed.

A costly error in the bottom of the first extended the inning and allowed Glenville State to pick up two unearned runs, 2-0. After loading the bases in the top of the second, a wild pitch gave one run back to West Virginia State, 2-1. Harrison then ripped an RBI-single into center field to tie the score, 2-2.
The Yellow Jackets put two more runs up in the fourth with a pair of solo bombs from Christian and Harrison, 4-2. Both goners sailed clear over the left field wall.
The Pioneers erased the lead with a two-run bottom of the fifth, 4-4. A scoreless sixth inning set up a potentially decisive seventh inning.
With two swings of the bat in the top of the seventh, WVSU scored the go-ahead run that ultimately made the difference.
Andrew Stone singled to leadoff the inning before he was able to race around the bases on Kline's double and score the winning run, 5-4.
Game 2: WVSU 6, GSC 2, Final/7
- The Yellow Jackets did not produce any extra base hits in the second game but made the most out of situations with runners in scoring position.
- Senior Clark Reese (1-0) did not get the start but earned the win for his five innings pitched to finish off the game. He gave up just two hits, allowed no runs, and posted three strikeouts.

WVSU tacked on one run in the fourth inning and two more runs in the seventh to increase the lead, 6-2. The additional runs were unnecessary as Reese had already entered the game in the third inning. He was able to dominate opposing batters until the end.
