GLENVILLE, W.Va. -- The West Virginia State University softball team competed in the Glenville State Invitational tournament over the weekend. The Yellow Jackets opened the tournament with a walk-off victory over Findlay, 7-4, before they were upended in walk off-fashion by Hillsdale, 4-3, in Saturday's second contest. There were two additional games meant to be played on Sunday that were canceled due to weather. Head Coach

Game 1: West Virginia State 7, Findlay 4, F/7.
West Virginia State took Saturday's first game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-4 walk-off victory over Findlay. WVSUÂ was down 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning when
Emily Moore homered on a 0-2 count, scoring four runs.
The Yellow Jackets opened up scoring in the first inning, when
Madison Rafuson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
West Virginia State knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the fourth inning. Rafuson doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Moore earned the victory on the mound for WVSU. The righty surrendered two runs on five hits over four innings, striking out one and walking one.
Megan Fisher took the loss for UF. Fisher lasted six and a third innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out ten.
Kasey Murphy started the game for the Yellow Jackets. Murphy went three innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five
West Virginia State tallied one home run on the day. Moore had a dinger in the seventh inning.
WVSU collected eight hits. Rafuson and Moore all managed multiple hits for the Yellow Jackets. Rafuson led West Virginia State with three hits in three at bats.
Fisher went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Oilers in hits.
Game 2: West Virginia State 3, Hillsdale 4, F/8.
A walk-off left West Virginia on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Hillsdale in Saturday's second game. Hillsdale trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Madison Stoner doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
WVSU lost despite out-hitting the Chargers six to five.
Hillsdale got on the board in the second inning. The Chargers scored one run when Elaine Townley doubled.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Hillsdale tied things up at two when Sam Catron hit a solo homer.
Dana Weidinger earned the victory on the hill for Hillsdale. The ace went three innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out four and walking zero.
Emily Moore took the loss for the Yellow Jackets. The righty went one-third of an inning, allowing one run on one hit and walking one.
Emilee Walker started the game for West Virginia State. The righthander allowed three hits and two runs over five and a third innings, striking out six.
