BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The field for the 2019 Mountain East Conference Softball Tournament is set after the conclusion of the regular season earlier today.

Eight teams from the league (four from the North Division and four from the South Division) advance to compete at the tournament held this year at the James I. Moyer Complex. Play begins this Friday, May 3, at noon. (View complete tournament schedule.) Select games from the tournament will be streamed live, and live stats will be provided for all games. The eight-team MEC Tournament features five teams that appear in the most recent NCAA Atlantic Region rankings.

West Virginia State (31-12, 24-8 MEC), the defending tournament champions, is the South Division champion and is one of two No. 1 seeds. West Liberty (32-17, 24-8) secured the North Division title on the final day of the regular season and is the other No. 1 seed.

Shepherd (36-14, 23-9) is the No. 2 seed in the North, followed by Fairmont State (25-21, 19-13) and Notre Dame (22-32, 10-22). NDC grabbed the final spot in the North Division on the final day of the regular season.

Concord (34-17, 22-10) secured the No. 2 seed in the South Division, followed by Charleston (32-19, 21-11) and UVa-Wise (22-25, 16-16).
