Baseball Splits with Slippery Rock

West Virginia State University split a doubleheader with regional foe Slippery Rock University on Saturday, March 2, 2019. 

The Yellow Jackets won game 1 in 10 innings 3-2.  Connor Slagill hit his 3rd home run of the year in the 3rd inning to put WVSU up 2-1.  Slippery Rock's Joe Sibeto would hit his 1st homerun of the year in the top of the 6th inning to tie the score at 2-2.

WVSU would load the bases in the bottom of the 10th and Matt Harrison drew a bases loaded walk off Rocket Pitcher Luke Trueman. Harrison would earn his first win of the year (1-1) coming in for starter Jacob Bradley (8 innings - 13K's - 0BB - 8 hits - 2 runs). Christopher JordanBrett Christian and Slagill would each have 2 hits in game 1.
The Rockets won game 2 by a score 9-2 in 7 innings due to darkness. Slippery Rock broke 2-2 with a run in the top of the 6th innings and 6 in the top of the 7th inning to get the win. Slippery Rock University is now 3-2 on the season while WVSU falls to 1-8.

Sundays Doubleheader has been canceled.
