Jackets Pull Away Down Stretch to Beat Urbana

   The Yellow Jackets used a balanced attack to eventually pull away from visiting Urbana Monday to earn a 95-85 win.

   The Jackets showed how happy they were to be spending the cold evening back home by scoring the first eight points of the game.

   The Blue Knights came back to tie the score at halftime and the squads swapped leads until midway through the third quarter.

   The Yellow Jackets took a 55-51 lead after Anesha Harmon hit a free throw Charity Shears drained a 3-pointer with 5:50 to go in the third.

   WVSU never trailed again but still held just a mere one point lead with 3:05 to play. The Jackets found another gear though and out-scored the visitors 12-3 in the closing minutes.

   Anesha Harmon finished with 17 points while Jordan Miller and Jordan Miller each had 16. Charity Shears ended up with 13 and Lyrin Hatcher 10 as WVSU finished with five in double-figures.

  Anna Ross pulled down 13 rebounds to pace the Jackets on the boards.
