WVSU Runs Win Streak to Six, Downs Urbana 94-79
After a hard fought first half the Yellow Jackets held a narrow 37-36 advantage over Urbana at the break Saturday afternoon in Institute.

They managed to add a little cushion early in the second half, held off every Blue Knight comeback attempt, and then pulled away down the stretch to earn a 94-79 win, the Jackets sixth in a row.

Senior Robert Fomby led the way with 29 points and 13 rebounds with Pat Johnson-Agwu adding 28 points.

The visitors challenged early and WVSU did not take its first lead until Jahlen Greene hit a 3-pointer with 12:34 to go in the opening half to give the Yellow Jackets a 16-13 lead.

Urbana kept it close in the first few minutes of the second half but a short 10-3 burst about five minutes in gave WVSU a 10-point advantage that would later swell to 15 before the visitors made one last run at a comeback.

The Blue Knights cut the margin to just three with 5:14 to play but the Yellow Jackets responded with a 10-2 run to retake control and were not challenged again. Johnson-Agwu started things off with a short jumper and Fomby came up with a steal and was fouled shortly after. He calmly sank both and then, after each team missed a shot, Fomby sank a 3-pointer and Johnson-Agwu converted a three point play to complete the run.

The visitors did not have anything left after that.

WVSU now has a 12-7 overall mark, 10-4 in the Mountain East Conference.

The Yellow Jackets host Glenville State at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in their next contest.
