The WVSU basketball teams each slipped in a non-conference contest before the Mountain East schedule heats up again next week.
The men and women host UVa-Wise Wednesday evening with the women opening the action at 5:30 p.m.
Sunday's women's contest --
Visiting Seton Hill came out of the gate fast Sunday hitting three free throws, a short jumper, and then a long 3-pointer to take an 8-0 lead.
The Yellow Jackets were never able to catch up in falling 88-74.
Jasmine Davis got the Yellow Jackets on the board with a driving lay-up with 7:19 left in the first quarter.
WVSU quickly pulled to within two points at 11-9 two minutes later but the Griffins responded with a 9-2 spurt to make the score 20-11.
The Yellow Jackets could get no closer than five points the rest of the way.
The visitors hit 46.3 percent of their shots including 40 percent from 3-point range. The Griffins sank 14-of-15 free throws, 93.3 percent.
Senior Aurreshae Hines paced WVSU with 21 points and four steals.

Saturday night men's game --

The WVSU men dropped a tough non-conference game 77-76 on the road at Malone in northern Ohio.
The Yellow Jackets erased a deficit that reached as many as 15 points by going on a 17-0 run midway through the second half to take a 62-58 lead with 10 minutes remaining.
Glen Abram and Jahlen Greene hit back-to-back 3-pointers to give WVSU the advantage.
The Pioneers took the lead back two minutes later with a 15-4 run making it 73-66 for the home team.
The Yellow Jackets had one final chance
With the score at 77-76 they had a 3-pointer rim out, two free throws roll off, and a final drive to the bucket result in a controversial turnover instead of the foul WVSU was looking for with two seconds to play.
Greene led WVSU with 15 points followed by Abram with 14, Pat Johnson-Agwu 11, and Isaiah Noel 10.
