Former WVSU football player Gary Hensley has returned to Institute to accept a faculty position in the Education Department.

The Harts, WV, native played for the Yellow Jackets under former Coach Carl Lee in 1999 and 2000. After working in the coal mines for six years he served as an assistant football coach at Rocky Mountain College in Montana for two years and at WVU-Tech for one.

Hensley, whose cousin Austin is currently on the WVSU football team, has been teaching middle school in Chapmanville recently and has earned a Masters' Degree in Special Education.

"I'm tickled to death to be back here," Hensley said. "I really enjoyed my time here before and I am looking forward to getting involved with whatever is happening on campus."
