Box Score   The Yellow Jacket football team dropped a 46-17 decision at ninth-ranked, league leading Shepherd Saturday.
  Sophomore quarterback
Matt Kinnick threw for 229 yards but the Rams (6-0) held WVSU Â (4-3) to 28 yards on the ground for the day.
  Shepherd got off to a fast start by returning the opening kickoff 66 yards to the WVSU 32. Seven plays later they had taken a 7-0 lead.
   The Rams added to that with a safety on a Jacket punt attempt moments later.
   WVSU fought back though with Kinnick hitting
Kelvit Barrett on an 18-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter.
   Shepherd added two more touchdowns while the Yellow Jackets added three points as the first half expired on a 43-yard field goal by
Anthony Herrera to make the score 23-10.

Dionta Brown finished off a 10-play, 60-yard drive with a 13-yard touchdown run to pull WVSU to within 23-17 with 11:25 to go in the third period.
    But the Rams responded with a 10-play drive of their own, this one for 75-yards, to move ahead 29-17.
    A Yellow Jacket fumble on their ensuing possession led to a quick Shepherd score moving the lead to 36-17 after three quarters,
   Shepherd added a touchdown and field goal in the fourth to account for the final tally.Â
