Trailing by 18 with five minutes to play Wednesday night at Concord the WVSU men's basketball squad rallied to cut the margin to six in the closing seconds before falling 72-66.
David Ford picked up a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Jackets.
Robbie Lewis added 12 points and
Dustin Jones 10 including a pair of 3-pointers down the stretch.
A 3-pointer midway through the first half moved the host Mountain Lions in front 19-17 and they never trailed again as they went on to hit 13-of-26 attempts from 3-point range.
The Yellow Jackets finished with a 33-18 rebounding edge.
