   Head men's basketball coach Bryan Poore has led the Yellow Jackets to a 255-133 record during his tenure.
   His squads have won two regular season WVIAC titles and three tournament crowns while making five NCAA tournament appearances.
   A native of Winfield, WV, Poore also worked as an assistant under Tex Williams for one year at Alderson-Broaddus, while also helping the Battlers’ sports information department. Additionally, he was assistant varsity and head freshman coach at Hurricane HS for two seasons. For eight years, Poore directed Greg White’s ultra-successful summer basketball camps at both UC and Marshall. He also has his own camp each summer at WVSU.
     The 47-year-old Poore graduated from State in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, and completed work on his master’s degree in physical education from Marshall University in 1994. Married to the lovely former Jennifer Stricklen they and their son Trevor and daughter Anna, reside in the Spring Hill area of South Charleston. In his spare time away from the job, Poore enjoys playing golf and watching NASCAR events.
