Tamara Queiroz

Tamara Queiroz is a Graduate Assistant Coach for the West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets women’s soccer team. Since her arrival, she has contributed to the program’s recent success, including winning the MEC Tournament and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division II National Tournament. In the 2024 campaign, the team posted a 16-4-3 record.

A native of Brazil, Queiroz brings a blend of international, collegiate, and youth soccer experience. Before relocating to the U.S. in 2015, she competed in Brazil’s top division and won both the Campeonato Brasileiro and Copa do Brasil with Ferroviária de Esportes in 2014. Her playing career in Brazil also included stints with Atlético MineiroPortuguesa de Desportos, and Francana.

In the U.S., Queiroz’s collegiate playing resume is distinguished. At Iowa Central Community College, she scored the game-winning goal in the NJCAA Division I Women’s Soccer National Championship and was honored as an NJCAA First Team All-American and tournament MVP. She then starred at ASA College Brooklyn, posting 19 goals and 13 assists, leading the team to a national championship game appearance, and earning a second NJCAA First Team All-American selection.

Her final collegiate stop was Salem University, where she earned ECAC Offensive Player of the Month and All-Atlantic Region Second Team honors. During that season, she ranked sixth nationally in both goals and points per game, tallying 18 goals including three hat tricks.

On the coaching side, Queiroz has experience across both collegiate and youth levels. She coached at Mercyhurst University, helping guide the team to a 10-6-4 finish and a PSAC Tournament semifinal appearance. She has also engaged in youth development with clubs such as Northern Piedmont Sports Club and Virginia Soccer Academy.

Queiroz is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Sports Studies with expected graduation in December 2025.
