Coach Nixon joined the Yellow Jacket coaching staff in July of 2015..
Prior to entering coaching he had a superb collegiate playing career at Long Beach State.
Coach Nixon was an NCAA Division I All-American selection as a senior in 2007. That same year he was also named conference tournament Most Valuable Player and was the Big West Conference Player of the Year.
Long Beach State finished with a 24-8 record that year on their way to winning the conference championship and an NCAA tournament berth. The 49ers dropped a first round decision to Tennessee in spite of Nixon finishing with 23 points, five rebounds and four assists.
A point guard, Nixon led the 49ers in scoring as a junior and senior and is still second in 3-point goals made in a career at the school.
After spending three years playing professional basketball overseas he worked as an assistant coach at NCAA Division III Heidelberg University in Ohio followed by his most recent position, a two-year stint at NAIA Division II Lourdes University, also in Ohio.
