Isaiah Jackson enters his fourth season with the West Virginia State University football coaching staff.
He will be serving as the Lineback Coach and Special Teams’ Coordinator. Jackson is looking forward to creating an identity for them founded on sound fundamentals, playing to high standards, and embracing the 1-0 theory that produces an atmosphere of competition.
Prior to arriving in Institute Jackson served the previous three seasons at the University of Sioux Falls as the Cougars’ linebacker and defensive line coach.
While at the University of Sioux Falls, Jackson assisted in leading the 2010 team to the NAIA National Championship game; in 2012, the team posted a 9-2 in its first season at NCAA Division II.
 Â
In 2010, Jackson mentored three Great Plains All-Conference performers and one All-American. USF's defense concluded the season ranked No. 1 nationally in scoring defense (8.5 points per game), pass defense (113 yards per game) and total yards (206.1 yards per game).Â
The Cougars linebacker unit, under his direction, performed exceptionally well at the 2010 NAIA National Championship, where Eric Anderson recorded 17 tackles and two sacks to be named the Defensive Player of the Game.Â
Jackson spent the 2012 season as the Defensive Line Coach.
Playing linebacker at South Dakota State University in Brookings, Jackson was a four-time letter winner. During his tenure, he played in 44 games where he totaled 157 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss. Jackson also tallied forced four fumbles and three sacks for the Jackrabbits.Â
In addition to being an All-Region selection during his prep days at Chandler High School in Chandler, Ariz., Jackson was a state champion in track and field.
Jackson received his Master’s Degree in Education Administration from the University of Sioux Falls in May of 2012.
