INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- West Virginia State and Frostburg State ended their respective seasons with a pair of one-run games at Lady Jackets Field, but in the end WVSU fell of their final contests of the season, 10-9 and 5-4. The two teams combined for 51 total hits over the course of the two games.

Game One: Frostburg State 10, WVSU 9
WVSU trailed 5-0 after four innings but cut the deficit to one with a four-run fifth inning, highlighted by a bases-clearing double from
Emily Bechtel and an RBI double by
Emma Pauley. WVSU took the lead briefly with four more runs in the sixth, including a two-run bunt single from
Sydney Shamblin and an RBI triple from Bechtel, but Frostburg State scored two runs in the seventh and held on. Bechtel finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Shamblin added three hits and two RBIs.
Autumn Hall threw a complete game in the loss, allowing 14 hits and eight earned runs.
Game Two: Frostburg State 5, WVSU 4
The Yellow Jackets took the lead in the first inning on a attempted sacrifice fly by
Jayde Baron that the right fielder dropped and a wild pitch that brought home Bechtel. Frostburg State took the elad back 5-2 with two runs scored in each of the third and fourth innings. WVSU scored once in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Shamblin and again in the seventh when
Kylie Price delivered a pinch-hit RBI single. Bechtel and Pauley each collected two hits, and
Jayde Baron contributed an RBI double.
Kelley Bickers started in the circle and took the loss, allowing five runs across four innings, while
Alex Hill pitched three scoreless innings of relief to keep WVSU within striking distance. The Lady Jackets left 10 runners on base in the narrow defeat.
WVSU ends the season on a six-game losing streak, but will look to snap that to start next season. The Yellow Jackets honored seniors
