BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced its 2024-25 All-Conference Men's Basketball Teams on Tuesday, with West Virginia State University's Jae Slack earning First-Team All-MEC honors, while teammate Arthur Cox received Honorable Mention recognition.
Slack was a dominant force for the Yellow Jackets throughout the season, leading the team with 18.1 points per game, totaling 470 points on the year. The senior guard shot 45.3% from the field and was highly efficient at the free-throw line, knocking down 81.8% of his attempts. He also contributed 4.5 rebounds per game, 31 assists, and 19 steals, all while averaging 31.8 minutes per contest.
Cox, a key contributor in the frontcourt, earned Honorable Mention recognition after posting 12.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. The senior forward was a reliable presence on both ends of the floor, shooting 50% from the field, while adding 52 assists, 33 steals, and 12 blocks over the course of the season.
West Virginia State finished the regular season with a 15-12 overall record (11-9 MEC), securing the No. 5 seed in the MEC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets will take on No. 4 seed Concord in the quarterfinals tonight at 8:30 p.m.
