NEW YORK, N.Y. – West Virginia State women's basketball's Anysa Jordan was selected to play in the 2024 HBCU Allstar Dream Classic on Aug. 10 at the historic Rucker Park in Harlem. She will be 1-of-40 players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and select colleges in the Northeast to participate in the event.

Jordan was a two-time All-MEC selection for the Yellow Jackets, earning first team honors in her first year and second team honors this past season. The Fairmont, W.Va. native transferred from Division I Eastern Kentucky as a senior and averaged 12.4 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game in her two seasons at WVSU. She helped State earn at-large bids to the NCAA Division II Tournament in both seasons and reach the MEC Tournament finals for the first time in program history this year.

Jordan will represent West Virginia State in the women's all-star game at 5 p.m. before a scheduled tip-off at 7 p.m. for the men's all-star game. The event is being organized by a Harlem-based nonprofit media company, Bridging Structural Holes (BSH). BSH emphasizes education and sports as the most impactful tools to make a lasting change in the world. The HBCU Allstar Dream Classic participants, having earned their college degrees, will serve as a powerful inspiration to youth.
