BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia State softball's Autumn Thompson earned Second Team All-Mountain East Conference honors from the league when the awards were announced on Monday. This was her third Second Team All-MEC selection. She was named the Mountain East Conference's Freshman of the Year in 2021.

Thompson was West Virginia State's most impactful player in her final season with the Yellow Jackets. In the circle, she recorded a team-low 2.78 ERA with a team-high 98 strikeouts. Her 171.0 innings pitched was the most in the conference. At the plate, she led the team in batting average (.336), slugging percentage (.496) and on-base percentage (.440). 

In Thompson's four-year career at State, she registered a 3.65 ERA with 233 strikeouts to her name. She hit .328 with 79 runs batted in and 89 runs scored. Her career fielding percentage stands at .971 with 415 putouts and 149 assists.
