BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia State baseball's Ayden Hodges (Tornado, W.Va./St. Albans) was named the Mountain East Conference's Pitcher of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, on Monday. The Yellow Jackets have now earned pitcher of the week honors from the league for four consecutive weeks.

Hodges was the latest Yellow Jacket to have an exceptional outing on the mound. He threw a complete game shutout in a 4-0 win over Notre Dame College this past Friday. He recorded a season-high 11 strikeouts while allowing a season-low two hits, both singles. 

Hodges earned his second win of the season and lowered his ERA to a 3.41 with the shutout performance. He has thrown 10 or more strikeouts in each of his last two starts to bring his season tally up to 43.
