BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia State baseball's Chase Norris (St. Albans, W.Va./St. Albans) was named the Mountain East Conference's Pitcher of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, for his complete game performance in a 2-1 win over Fairmont State last week. This is the third-consecutive week that a Yellow Jacket has been named the MEC Pitcher of the Week.

Norris earned his third win in his fourth start of the season against Fairmont State last week. He recorded a season-high eight strikeouts and season-lows of four hits and one base on balls. Two of those hits went for extra bases. One was a solo home run and the other was an inconsequential double. He finished the game by striking out the last three batters in the seventh inning.
