Women's Basketball makes NCAA Tournament for second-straight year

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – West Virginia State women's basketball qualified for the NCAA DII Tournament for the second-consecutive season after reaching a conference championship finals for the first time in program history. The Yellow Jackets snuck in as the No. 8 seed in the Atlantic Region and will face regional hosts No. 1 seed Gannon on March 15. 

The regional round will last from March 15 to March 18. No. 4 seed Lock Haven and No. 5 seed California (Pa.) will meet in the opening round of the Atlantic Region tournament. The winner of that matchup will face the winner of West Virginia State's game against Gannon. 

On the other side of the Atlantic Region bracket, No. 2 seed Fairmont State will be the hosts and take on No. 7 seed West Chester in the first round. No. 3 seed Fayetteville State will play No. 6 seed Indiana (Pa.) to determine who will face the winner of Fairmont State's matchup.
