FROSTBURG, Md. — West Virginia State women's basketball faced a challenging road contest at Frostburg State on Saturday, falling 98-73 in a Mountain East Conference matchup at Bobcat Arena.
The Yellow Jackets (5-2, 2-2 MEC) held their own early, leading 19-18 after the first quarter, but the Bobcats (6-3, 3-1 MEC) surged ahead with a dominant second quarter, outscoring WVSU 29-13. Frostburg State's Emilee Weakley proved unstoppable, pouring in a game-high 40 points on 14-of-24 shooting and adding 10 free throws.

Despite the loss, WVSU excelled on the boards, with Fortenberry anchoring the effort and the team out-rebounding Frostburg 40-39. Hallie Bailey's four steals also highlighted the Yellow Jackets' defensive intensity.
