Yellow Jackets set multiple personal records at HBCU Showcase

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The West Virginia State track & field team competed in the HBCU Showcase at the Armory Track on Saturday. Fourteen Yellow Jackets set personal records across various events.

Candace Morris impressed in the 60 meters. She ran a 7.75 (PR) in the prelims before running a 7.76 in the finals to finish in seventh place. 

Jayden Smith set a personal record and recorded a top 10 finish in the 400 meters. He posted a time of 50.72 seconds to finish in 10th place.

Robert Salhab III placed in the top 10 in both the shot put and the weight throw with personal records in both events. He recorded lengths of 13.66 meters and 13.89 meters in the shot put and the weight throw respectively. He finished seventh in the shot put and fifth in the weight throw.
