Men's Golf finishes 10th at UC Invitational; Tang finishes third

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia State University golf team finished in 10th place at the UC Invitational played at Berry Hills Country Club. The Yellow Jackets shot 70 over par through three rounds to tie with Wheeling and finish above Mercyhurst (+75) and Winston-Salem State (+103).

Sophomore Kunakorn Tang finished third overall in the two-day tournament by shooting three under par. He shot five over par in the first round and six under par in the second round to end up at one under par after the first day. He then shot two under par in the third round on the second day of the tournament to complete a 29-place climb from round one.

Cameron Fisher (+17) tied for 48th place while Gabriel Cuellar (+23) finished in a tie for 58th place. Neither Yellow Jacket shot more than nine over par in each of the three rounds.

Tzu-Wei Huang (-9) of Virginia-Wise edged Benjamin Fernandez (-7) of Glenville State for first place on the individual leaderboard. Tang matched Huang for the best round with Huang shooting six under in the first round before Tang shot six under in the second round.

Charleston topped the team leaderboard at 12 over par with Glenville 10 strokes behind. West Liberty and West Virginia Wesleyan tied for third place at 26 over par.
