BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference league offices announced West Virginia State's Elias Valencia as its Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Valencia won at No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles to help his team to a 5-2 victory over Frostburg State this past Saturday.

Valencia was paired with teammate Mateo Flores at No. 2 doubles and came away with a crucial 6-2 win. The Yellow Jackets lost at No. 1 doubles but won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the doubles point for the match. 

Valencia then scored another crucial point for his team at No. 4 singles. He edged Frostburg State's Noah Fisher 7-5 in the first set before claiming the second set more convincingly, 6-3.
