BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia State softball's Emma Pauley was named the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, on Monday afternoon. The freshman designated player and first baseman hit .444 in six games played last week.

Pauley went 8-for-18 with three consecutive multi-hit games as the Yellow Jackets went 3-3 for the week. Five out of her eight hits were doubles. In total, she drove in three runs and scored three runs. 

Pauley is hitting .488 on the season and currently leads the MEC in batting average. She is ranked second in the nation in doubles per game (0.60).
