BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference named West Virginia State's Kasey Murphy its Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Murphy hit two homeruns and three doubles in four games played last week.

The Yellow Jackets went 3-1 against PSAC opponents at a tournament hosted by Glenville State. Murphy went 7-for-15 (.467) with five extra base hits and drew two walks. She also stole two bases. 

In the second game of the tournament, she went 2-for-4 with a homerun and a double, five RBIs, two runs scored and a base on balls.

In total, Murphy drove in 10 runs and crossed home plate herself six times to account for 16 runs for State.
