LEXINGTON, Ky. – West Virginia State volleyball's Diamond'Nique Young received an honorable mention from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) when the organization released its 42nd annual Division II Women's All-America teams. Young became the second All-American in the volleyball program's history after Jenna Dufresne earned Second Team All-American honors in 2021.

This was Young's fourth major award this season. She was named First Team All-Conference by the MEC, Second Team All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and First Team All-Region by the AVCA prior to earning All-American status. Last season, Young was a First Team All-MEC selection in addition to being named First Team All-Region by the D2CCA.

Young eclipsed 400 points this year with 361 kills, 92 block assists and four block solos. She ranked in the top five in the conference in hitting percentage (.303), kills (3.56 per set) and points (4.06 per set). She placed sixth in the league in blocks, averaging 0.96 per set. Young has amassed 684 kills, 194 total blocks and 794.5 points in two seasons with the Yellow Jackets.
