BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The Mountain East Conference announced on Monday that Diamond'Nique Young earned Volleyball's Defensive Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan. Young becomes the third straight WVSU volleyball player to earn Player of the Week honors following Jacklyn Simms on Sept. 25, and Valencia Wilder on Oct. 2.

Young recorded nine total blocks in last week's matches against Glenville State and West Virginia Wesleyan. Young's five blocks in the Glenville State match set a season-high for the senior. She also amassed 22 kills over the two matches with a 13 kill effort against the Bobcats. She has amassed double-digit kills in all but four matches this season.

Young is currently ranked second in the Mountain East for hitting percentage (.355), fourth in kills per set (3.70), fourth in points per set (4.17), and seventh in blocks per set (0.89).
