BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. -- The Mountain East Conference announced Valencia Wilder (Freshman/Blacklick, Ohio/Licking Heights) as this week's defensive Player of the Week for Volleyball, presented by the Health Plan, on Monday for her defensive domination at the net this past week. 

Wilder recorded nine total blocks (8 BA/1 BS) in sweeps of Concord and D&E last week. She registered 7.5 points in each match with a total of nine kills and one service ace alongside her nine total blocks. She was part of a defensive effort that held Concord to a .081 hitting percentage and D&E to a .062 hitting percentage.

Wilder is currently ranked eighth in the Conference in blocks per set, averaging 0.81 per set. She is currently second on the team, behind teammate Natalie Beer who averages 1.06 blocks per set.
