SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its All-Atlantic Region Team selections on Thursday afternoon. West Virginia State's Andrew Stone earned second team honors after recording the sixth-best on-base percentage in all of NCAA Division II this season.

Graduate second baseman Andrew Stone garnered Second Team All-Atlantic Region honors for the second consecutive year after the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) recognized him a season ago. Stone was named First Team All-MEC last week for the first time in his career. In his final season as a Yellow Jacket, he led West Virginia State in on-base plus slugging (1.111), runs (49), doubles (14), triples (4), slugging percentage (.565), bases on balls (45) and stolen bases (17). His .546 on-base percentage was not only the best on the team but also the best mark in the MEC. Furthermore, Stone had the lowest number of strikeouts (20) among WVSU starters and did not ground into a double play all season long.

Stone played in 200 total games on the West Virginia State University baseball team. He finished his collegiate career with a .326 batting average, .437 on-base percentage and .550 slugging percentage. He scored 185 runs and batted in another 115 runs to account for 300 total runs in the past five years. He totaled 355 bases including 55 doubles, 18 triples and 18 homeruns while stealing 64 bases. Stone made 309 total putouts and 204 assists in the field for the Yellow Jackets. He only committed 11 errors on 524 total chances to record a .979 career fielding percentage.
