Men's Tennis wins 11 matches at UC Invitational

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia State University men's tennis team won 11 matches at the UC Invitational over the weekend. The six individual match wins were the most ever for WVSU at the annual tournament.

Freshman Alex Cottrell and senior Ryan Mullins each had three wins to lead the Yellow Jackets. Cottrell won once in doubles play and twice in singles play while Mullins won two doubles matches and one singles match. Mullins was F Draw doubles champions with teammate Dom Reyes. Meanwhile, Cottrell won an exciting tiebreaker (7-6, 4-6, 10-8) against Nadeem Jones of Denison on the second day of the tournament.
