BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- West Virginia State University's Emily Moore was named the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week for the sport of softball on Monday. She collected base hits in each of the four games played at the Glenville State College Invitational tournament last week while driving in a total of seven runs and crossing the plate herself two times.

Moore started off the tournament going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, two RBIs, and a run scored in a 7-6 win over Shepherd. In a 9-8 loss to West Chester, she went 1-for-2 with an RBI while drawing three walks. She then went 2-for-4 with a homerun, four RBIs, and a run scored in a 9-6 win over Shippensburg. To wrap up the weekend, she went 1-for-2 with a walk in a 7-2 loss to Seton Hill.

Moore ended up hitting at a .545 clip throughout the tournament with a double, triple, and homerun as her three extra base hits. She was also the winning pitcher versus Shepherd after giving up only three hits in 4.1 innings pitched with no earned runs and three strikeouts.
