Samier Kinsler was named the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week when the league announced the awards on Monday afternoon. This was the first MEC Player of the Week award of his career.
The sophomore guard from Philadelphia, Pa. averaged 22.0 points per game last week as WVSU defeated both Concord, 85-80, and St. Augustine's, 82-67, to improve to 5-0 on the season. Kinsler scored 19 points against Concord, including four three-pointers, with three rebounds, two assists and three steals in 26 minutes played. He then scored a season-high 25 points at SAU, including five three-pointers, with five boards and two assists in 28 minutes on the court.
