BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- West Virginia State University's
Anthony Pittman was named the Mountain East Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday. He played a pivotal role in West Virginia State's upset over No. 7 Fairmont State midweek before eclipsing 1,000 career points at Frostburg State over the weekend.
Pittman posted a game-high and career-high 33 points in a 95-84 win over No. 7 Fairmont State on Wednesday. He also grabbed 11 rebounds to pick up his sixth double-double of the season. Additionally, Pittman dished out five assists, swiped four steals, and swatted three blocks inÂ
Despite getting into foul trouble in an 88-77 win at Frostburg State, Pittman eclipsed 1,000 career points with eight on Saturday. He also had five rebounds and four assists. The Yellow Jackets extended their win streak to 10 games after another undefeated week of MEC hoops.
