GREENSBORO, N.C. -- West Virginia State University baseball players
Matt Harrison and
Ethan Lauchart were named First Team All-Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings when the organizations announced the honorees on Wednesday afternoon. The teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America Committee.
Harrison and Lauchart have now earned First Team All-Region honors from the NCBWA, D2CCA, and ABCA. Additionally, Harrison earned an All-America Honorable Mention from the NCBWA. He will be furthering his baseball career in the Pecos League, an independent professional baseball league, with the Trinidad Triggers out of Colorado.
ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first-team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Americans will be announced on Friday, June 4. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced Wednesday, June 23.
