Quick Recap
The first game started off as a serious pitcher's duel. Neither starter looked like they were going to let anything go by them.
In the bottom of the fourth, Davis & Elkins finally ended the stalemate. Two singles to start out the half inning followed by a groundout left baserunners on second and third. An RBI-single up the middle put the Senators on top, 1-0. Walker stopped the scoring there by forcing a pop up and getting the third out with a strike out.
WVSU responded in the top of the fifth with a run to tie it, 1-1. Lebsock's double moved pinch runner
Madison Corbin to third base. Two outs were registered before
Sarah Barrett and
Paige Scruggs drew consecutive walks to bring Corbin home.
Emily Moore entered the game in the bottom of the fifth and shut down D&E for the remainder of the contest.
In the top of the sixth, the Yellow Jackets recorded the go-ahead that resulted in the victory, 2-1. With two outs and
Lindsey Phares on second base, Lebsock singled through the right side of the infield to score Phares.

- Junior Kasey Murphy (8-5) tossed a complete game shutout in which she had six strikeouts and gave up six hits. She also had a career-day inside the batter's box. She went 3-for-3 with two homeruns and a double while driving in five runs and scoring three times.
