ST. ALBANS, W.Va. -- The West Virginia State University women's soccer team will tilt with the Wheeling University Cardinals today at 3 p.m. at Crawford Field in St. Albans. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools in women's soccer.

Key Players
For West Virginia State:
- Freshman goalkeeper Laura Galindo has started all nine games this season and will likely get the call today. She has 29 saves on the season, has only allowed nine goals, and has two clean sheets.
- Leading scorer Fran Soares-Cupertino has five goals on 11 shots on target. Her goals per game average (0.78) is third in the conference and 27th in all of Division II.
For Wheeling:
- Starting goalkeeper and conference saves leader Mikayla Yarwood had to exit the Cardinals' last game at the end of the half. No information released on her status for today's match.
- Kenadee Burgoyne leads the team in goals (7), and has scored over half of the team's total goals (13).
WVSU On The Rise
West Virginia State was ranked eighth in this week's United Soccer Coaches Poll for the Atlantic Region. It's the first time in school history that the Yellow Jackets women's soccer team has been regionally ranked.
