ATHENS, Ga. – The Black College Sports Network (BCSN) named three Yellow Jackets to its preseason NCAA Division II men's basketball team on Wednesday morning when it announced this year's honorees. Senior
Glen Abram and sophomore
Anthony Pittman were named on the First Team while senior
Jeremiah Moore was listed on the Second Team for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) that compete at the Division II level.
The Black College Sports Network is the first online media outlet dedicated to live coverage and broadcasting of HBCU sporting events on a weekly basis. In an effort to recognize the best men's basketball players from HBCUs around the country, BCSN names a first team and second team for each division of collegiate athletics during the preseason.
Abram, West Virginia State's leading scorer during the 2019-20 season, and Pittman, WVSU's leading rebounder last season, joined a pair of guards from Miles College (Fairfield, Ala.) and a senior forward from Lincoln University (Pa.) on the First Team. Notably, Pittman was the only underclassman to be named on the First Team across all levels.
Moore, the Yellow Jacket that at times put the team on his back last season, earned a place on the Second Team for his respectable scoring and rebounding averages (15.8 ppg/7.7 rpg) during the 2019-20 season. His ability to take over games when his teammates were not performing at their best made a huge difference late in the regular season.
