Softball Rolls Over Visiting Ohio Valley
Softball Rolls Over Visiting Ohio Valley
The WVSU softball team rolled to a pair of wins over visiting Ohio Valley Saturday afternoon at Little Creek Park in South Charleston taking game one 7-1 and game two 9-0 in five innings.

In the opener the Yellow Jackets took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first that stood up until the Fighting Scots tied the score in the top of the fourth.

That did not last long though.

The Yellow Jackets pushed three runs across the plate in the fifth and three more in the sixth to take control.

Brittany Allison drove in three runs while Emily Moore banged out three hits to pace the attack.Calli Norton threw four strong innings before Emily Thompson came on and held Ohio Valley scoreless over the final three frames.

WVSU kept that momentum going in the nightcap.

The Yellow Jackets pounded out seven doubles in game two and plated two runs in the first, three in the second, and then put the game out of reach with four in the bottom of the fourth.

Kayleigh Thompson and Brooklyn Hale had three hits and two runs batted in each while Zoey Carte and Emily Moore each had a pair of hits and rbi.

Moore allowed just two hits in going the distance in the five inning, "mercy rule", shortened contest.
