Casey is an investigator with the Public Defender Office in Charleston. As a member of the Yellow Jackets basketball team, he was WVIAC Freshman of the Year, made the NBA Athletes to Watch List and was a member of the NAIA national tournament All-Tournament Team.

Captain of the 1989 team, he is listed as the second leading scorer in the State's history with 2,153 points.
