Wright was a standout for the Yellow Jackets women’s basketball team, leading the team in scoring for four seasons from 1978-1981. In addition, she was the first person in the history of the women’s basketball program at State to score 1,000 points in a career. She also set a school record for most points in a game when she scored 40 in a contest against Fairmont State.
