Curry, a member of the class of 1953, had a .444 batting average as a member of the Yellow Jackets baseball team. He also was a guard on the football squad.

Records indicate Curry was called on to pitch in one game in which he also hit two doubles and two home runs. As a guard, he was selected All-CIAA in 1951-52 and All-American in 1952.
