Reggie Coleman

Reggie Coleman is the oldest son of George and Clara

Coleman, both deceased, was born in Harrisburg, PA.

He graduated from William Penn Senior High School in

1968. While there, he was active in baseball, basketball,

and achieved All-Conference and All-State honors in

baseball.

Reggie led the West Virginia State College (University) baseball team to the Conference

Championships in 1972 and 1974. He led the Conference in hits, extra base hits, home

runs, runs batted in, and stolen bases in both seasons. His batting average of .451 was

25th in the nation in 1972. In 1974, his .478 batting average was fifth in the nation. Mr.

Coleman was first team All-Conference in 1972 and 1974. In 1974, he was a fi rst team

All-American selection and also that year selected by the Cincinnati Reds.

He returned to WV State and earned a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice. He moved to Fort

Wayne, IN where he played professional softball and worked as a police offi cer, retiring

as a homicide detective.

Reggie is currently head coach of the Indiana Cardinals semi-pro football team, the

fi rst undefeated football team in the history of Fort Wayne. He is also active with metro

youth sports, whose football program is considered one of the best youth programs for

football and basketball in the United States. Reggie also conducts baseball clinics and

umpires for the East Allen County Baseball Program.

Mr. Coleman is the proud father of Darnell, Nicole, and Kecia.
