    Michael Taylor is the son of Michael, Sr. and Patricia Taylor. He came to West Virginia State from Detroit, MI after graduating from Martin Luther King High School where he was a member of a Detroit public school league championship.
    While at WVSU, Michael was a four year starter, a three year team captain, and set multiple season and career records. He is the third leading scorer in school history and ranks first all time in three pointers made. Michael finished his 2003-04 season with a 24.4 points per game average which was sixth best in the country for NCAA Division II.
    He also led the country in three point goals made per game with a 4.4 average. His individual honors include being named WVIAC Player of the Year and Division II All American in 2004. Michael helped lead the basketball team to the WVIAC Season Championship and
a berth to the NCAA Tournament in 2004.
    After leaving State, Michael was fortunate to have played three years of professional basketball in Holland, Germany, and Austria. He later moved on to the business side of sports where he worked in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks.
    He is currently in his sixth season working for the NBA and resides in Royal Oak, Michigan where he is the Director of Group Sales for the Detroit Pistons.
    Michael is especially grateful to have played with amazing teammates and under an outstanding head coach and staff at West Virginia State University.
