Julius A. McLeod II (known as “Juice”), was born in Gallipolis, Ohio to Julius and Betty McLeod. He and his family moved to Institute, West Virginia in 1972 and he graduated from Dunbar High School in 1984. While in high school, Julius received numerous awards for his gallant efforts on the football field. He received a scholarship to Norfolk State University in 1984. He later returned to “State” and lettered three years in football. “Juice” was selected All-WVIAC First Team Offense Wide Receiver in 1987. He also received an ROTC scholarship while at “State” and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May of 1988. His military education includes: Airborne Course, Transportation Officer Basic Course, Logistics Captain Career Course, Combined Arms and Service Staff School, Logistics Executive Course and Intermediate Level Education.

In March of 2009, Julius was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and is currently assigned to 79 Sustainment Support Command, Deputy G4 of Logistics in Los Alamitos, California. He serves as the senior military advisor on all Logistics within the command, being responsible for planning, coordinates and monitors logistic efforts which include maintenance, supply, food service, contracting, and transportation to provide efficient organizational support for 22,000 soldiers in the command. Julius has over 24 years of service in the United States Army.

Julius is married to his lovely wife Deirdra and they are enjoying their life together.
